The Problem
Despite a modern setup, WRX Trade unknowingly faced serious security and backup challenges. Their main site had been previously hacked without their awareness; along with their Turkish-language websites.
Attackers had installed a plugin; it functioned as a backdoor, silently granting access without visibly breaking the site — making it one of the most dangerous types of hacker activity. Since the intrusion happened in the past and backup retention was limited to seven days, the plugin had already made its way into all available backups, leaving WRX Trade without any clean restore points.
